How to request your BeReal data export

To browse your BeReal archive, first ask BeReal for a downloadable copy of your personal data. This viewer opens the files you receive. It does not connect to your BeReal account or submit a request for you.

1. Contact BeReal about your data

BeReal's privacy policy lists its Data Protection Team at dpo@bere.al for data rights requests. Ask for a copy of your account data in a downloadable, machine-readable format. BeReal may ask for information to confirm that the account belongs to you.

The official Help Center request form is another support contact. Its available categories can change. Follow BeReal's current instructions; this guide does not assume a particular in-app menu or promise a delivery time.

Hello BeReal Data Protection Team. I would like a downloadable, machine-readable copy of the personal data associated with my BeReal account, including available posts, memories and their media. Please tell me what you need to identify my account and how I can securely receive the export. Thank you.

Add account details only in your private request to BeReal. Do not post them in this viewer's issue tracker.

2. Download and keep the original export

When BeReal provides your files, download them to your device and keep an unchanged copy. This viewer supports a BeReal ZIP containing JSON records and media, with an optional .json.gz analytics file. A standalone JSON file is not enough to import an archive here.

The ZIP limit is 500 MiB and the optional compressed analytics limit is 100 MiB. Expanded data and entry counts also have limits, listed on theviewer page. Export formats and included records can vary; compatibility with every BeReal export is not guaranteed.

3. Open the ZIP and save your photos

  1. Open the viewer and select the BeReal ZIP. Add the analytics file if you have it.
  2. Select Analyze selected files and review the import report.
  3. Browse the available posts, memories, friends and conversations.
  4. Select Download complete archive to save media, or download selected posts and memories.

Separate camera downloads preserve the original image format. Merged photos are JPEGs. Metadata includes timestamps and locations when they are available. The viewer cannot restore records missing from the export.

Open your BeReal ZIP

Free, no account or tracking. The browser reads your files locally, without uploading them. Refreshing clears imported data from memory; saved downloads remain on your device.

If you do not have a ZIP yet

Try Explore demo data on the viewer page. It uses invented records and illustrated images to show the browsing and download flow without personal files. An empty section in your own archive can mean BeReal did not include those records; check the import report before assuming the data was lost.
